Replacement Turntable Stylus?

okay, so i recently bought a steepletone roxy 2 turntable, and it came with a sapphire stylus. i ordered a spare stylus and ive noticed that the stylus it came with has already gone a bit bad. so i swapped the stylus, but i noticed that the replacement one is a diamond one with a metal part on it as apposed to the plastic part that the old one had. the new stylus seems of better quality but im just worried it is the wrong one? thanks! x
