How is it that in meiosis you can end up with four daughter cells that are genetically diff. from each other?

i believe it depends on the mother's genetic background.. like how a woman who is half american and half african american can have two identical twins but one could be black and one could be white. it is because they took different genes from her chromosomes.. if this is no help to you then im sorry. it is interesting tho!
