Rephrase: Which one is more difficult: military basic training or jail/prison?

I've never been to prison, but I'm pretty sure prison is the harder of the two. You can't be proud of being in prison. You don't have to worry about Bubba raping you in the shower in the military. And the only confidence that you'll gain in prison is that you're still alive. The military, as I'm sure you already know, builds your personal confidence, strength, ability to cope with things, and pays you while doing it. I hope you're not looking for a way to get into prison.
